i agree, publix has amazing bread.

if you can get there early enough before they sell out, panera has really good bread too.

I like the Bread of Life bakery. Their cupcakes are awesome with the homemade icing and I think they are run by a church, so the money goes to a good place. It is on Fairfield drive, on the corner of Fairfield and 61st.

I haven't actually tried it, but the time I went to Port City Market (Wednesdays from 5-9, corner of main and palafox) there was a tent selling bread and cake. Kids bake it and sell it to raise the money for their tuition next school year. $5 donation. I figure it's a good cause, if nothing else.
